Well, that's one way to do it.

Having been at the current workplace for one single month, I've accumulated enough stress that a doc has told me to take a couple days off or, essentially, explode.

So in order to cut down on the stress levels, I have:
- taken, on prescription, a sleeping pill which is not only addictive, apparently, but which is contraindicated for people with a pre-existing condition I have and which, as it turns out, gives me massive headaches.
- conked out for eight hours as (presumably) a result of taking the pill.
- managed to sleep a further twelve hours to catch up on massive sleep debt.
- gotten a haircut.
- caught up on the washing, which was piling up.
- largely caught up on dishwashing, which always seems to reappear the instant I turn my back on the sink. Nowhere to put a dishwasher, of course.
- shopped.
- constructed and fridged a week's worth of meals.
- partially taken care of the tree root pushing the bricks of the front walkway up into unstable positions.
- gotten started on taking care of the jamming screen door on the side of the house.
- paid off a government debt which has been sword-of-Damoclesing for months.
- touched base with another company to get some information I've wanted for several weeks.
- refilled 12 empty water bottles which were hanging around my desk.
- remembered to recharge my phone.
- refilled the car's fuel tank.
- called my folks about yet another computer issue of theirs which arose since I last saw them Sunday. (Dead hardware this time, couldn't do much.)

It's just gone 5pm. I still have not started on any of the stress-causing outstanding items which have been hanging around for days or weeks. But at least now I don't have 947 other excuses for not tackling them.
