Weird side effects of fandom

Dec 07, 2009 00:02

When an internet-only multi-author fictional universe has events impressive enough in scope to make me consider writing songs about them, that's practically normal.

Not normal is having the song twist around in my head and suddenly sprout emotional structures and resonances which turn it into a ballad/lament for a pair of doomed lovers.

Which, even without fixed lyrics, had an emotional slam sufficient to make me suddenly mist up.

While driving.

At freeway speeds.

"Drive drive drive, doo de doo, OH GOD WHY AM I BLUBBERING AND TRYING TO THINK UP A RHYME FOR "FOLLOWED HER ONE FINAL TIME" AND IT'S ABOUT A SUICIDE WHICH DIDN'T EVEN HAPPEN BOO HOO HOO WHERE HAS THE ROAD GONE?"

reactions-affected, hobbies-writing, reactions-wtf?
