Transformers Animated: Transwarped (the first bits)

Mar 15, 2009 19:43

I love me some human-Cybertronian mashups. I'm guessing from the first parts that Sari's more Beast Wars than Pretender.

Points:
Who spotted Cliffjumper, Mainframe, Metroplex, Highbrow, and Alpha Trion? (And of course Wheeljack.)
Will Blurr ever get decubed? "Oh sure, Blurr just drag himself to CR chamber!"
The origin of Isaac's hair-streak!
Why did Optimus know what a protoform was but not previously recognise Isaac's description of one?
Becoming a teenager is never easy, coming to terms with a new body and all.

Shout-outs:
- Sari's hammer is a fusion of Magical Girl Hammerspace and Ultra Magnus's favorite weapon - she also has Magical Girl Upgrade Wings and a Magical Girl transformation with flashing-light background and manifesting armour.
- Omega Supreme's faceplate displaying different things.
- Perceptor's stolen his voice module from Stephen Hawking or the Teen Titans' villain, the Brain.
- Sari's a BW-style protoform.
- Blurr's suffered one of Waspinator's fates.
- After apparently getting across the galaxy to Cybertron under his own power, which Waspinator is hinted to have done in order to appear in Beast Machines.
- Thundercracker gets to use sonic effects.
- The Autobot Elite Guard appears to be headquartered in Metroplex's city mode.
- Cliffjumper, the character who in G1 did a share of paranoid spy-accusations, is Longarm Prime's secretary/assistant.
- Red Alert has taken designs cues from Botanica and is wielding a red version of G1 Soundwave's handweapon.
- Blackout's Movie-style EMP blast.
- Cosmic Rust.
- Starscream's predicament makes him a Headmaster, Targetmaster, and Powermaster component.
- Powell's "Autobots, Decepticons, they're all the same" - a ref to G1 comics stances of many humans.
- Arcee's predicament is a visual homage to her Spotlight comic.
- Blurr's blurring is a combination of the DCAU Flash and a Tron bike.
- His squishing might be a Star Wars ref?
- His running on the rings of a planet is a reference to the opening sequence of the G1 Season 3 cartoon.
- Omega Supreme has Unicron-style internal pincer-type defence systems.
- Starscream's body seems a little undead :)
- Pinned by falling rocks!
- The chunk of equipment that Prowl disguises himself as on the ceiling seems awfully familiar.
- Prowl's DNA scanner beam effect is reminiscient of the similar ones used by the stasis pods in Beast Wars.
- Omega Supreme isn't the only robot of his body type in that construction facility. A nod to the Omega Sentinels?
- Is the Burger Bot a subtle reference to the Botcon voice actor drive-through skits?
- Optimus crashes through the freeway side-barriers as in the 2007 movie.
- Starscream's body gets shot in the foot... '86 movie ref :)
- Starscream's body partially transforms - Gerwalk mode!
- "More than meets the vis-scanners" - lol
- Rock Lords!
- Sari's Hermes-style foot-jet transformation.
- Sorceror's Apprentice enemy.
- I could swear Sari stabbing Bee is a reference to something.
- Prowl's knuckle-interface is a little like Robocop's...
- Wireframe Megatron and background - G1 Movie reference?
- Bulkhead and Bumblebee's Fastball Special.
- Sari's two-handed energy-sphere generation is reminiscient of Street Fighter II and/or Dragonball.
