Toy notes - dragon mode

Feb 23, 2009 22:07

Aw nuts, I'm going to have to remodel half the jet cockpit and the lower robot legs to be able to get the dragon heads to flip out where I want them. And I'm fiddling about seeing if I can get the cockpits to explode into a sort of draconic neck frill, or head spikes.

Also, this thing is clocking in at almost eleven thousand polygons so far. I haven't actually put the whole thing together with all the internal kibble fitted yet, and I still have four, maybe five heads to model into it, so it could top out somewhere around twelve thousand. And that's without the robot hands.

Why so many surfaces? Because I'm modelling the internal thicknesses of plastic and the fine structure of the joints. I haven't added joint pins or the barbell-connectors I'd need in a real version of this, though.
