3D bleah.

I gave Milkshape 3D 1.7 a go today, to see how it stacked up.

Unfortunately, it didn't. Skimpy documentation, unintuitive locations for various actions, and a depressing lack of consistency between the results of an action in one viewport and another. The snap-to-grid option was so unintegrated it felt like a slapped-on script, and I shudder to think how long it might have taken to work out how to create boolean cuts and unions.

I've had 3DS Max recommended to me from several angles, but the cost is prohibitive. I might see if someone has an older version they could be persuaded to part with.

For cryin' out loud, all I need is basic grid-snap and animation, simple primitives, and a way to work with said primitives which doesn't involve digging around in the bowels of the program just to move a cube from A to B.
