Shelving mod

Jun 02, 2008 19:16

Have finished sawing up the IKEA shelving to get what I was after, and the new floating shelves are doing quite well. I still need to sand down the stabiliser blocks a tad, but they can be pounded into place fairly well as it stands.

Now to add the rest of the horizontal shelving. Once that's done, I can start assembling the new bookcases. After that, I can unpack the books which are still in storage from the move two years ago, sort my entire collection by author and put them on the bookcases, fill the shelving with toys and junk currently cluttering up everything, move the minifridge into the walk-in robe to cut down on the amount of heat being dumped near the computers, shove the desk over into the gap where the fridge used to be, move the existing bookcase out of the den, move the synthesiser and music stand somewhere out of the way, replace my workstation with something of *this* century, swap the remaining CRTs with LCDs, install the big screen that's been sitting in the corner since whenever, throw out the TV, replace it with the one from the living room, get a new TV for the living room, upgrade the internet gateway, improve the wireless house network, and replace my old, beat-up cellphone.

Then I can get that couch I've been after for the den.
