There's an upcoming auction by a general auction company who doesn't specialise in IT, although they do run IT auctions from time to time.
One of the items up for grabs is an LCD monitor.
A THIRTY-INCH monitor.
Which is marked down as "minor cosmetic damage, works perfectly except designated as broken because it won't go higher rez than X, only good for salvage", where X is fairly low.
Of course, I happen to know that this particular model needs certain amounts of babying in what it's hooked up to, or else it will stamp its little foot and, you guessed it, refuse to display any resolution over X...
The monitor is still being sold in shops, for around two grand.
Minimum bid on this auction is about a hundred bucks.
*does the happy puppy wiggle dance*
UPDATE: It's up to two hundred dollars, with four days to go. I'll have to see how it goes.
