George Bush must be some kind of magician, because he's turned an unspeakably horrible dictator into a martyr. Ta-da. As the Count on Sesame Street might say, "Ala, peanut-butter suicidebombers!"
You've just watched a man die. We don't know whether he'll be darted up to heaven, crammed down to hell where he'll undoubtedly be in charge of some sort of punishment involving razorblades and Hitler's asshole, or if there won't be any divine end for him at all.
I just want you to know that yes, this was a horrible man. He's killed literally millions of people and maybe if it's up to us to play god, this was a case in which it was appropriate to do so.
But don't laugh. Don't dance around and be happy because he's died. I want everyone to see these images, and to watch him hang; listen to the audio, let yourself get just as queasy and horrified as I did. He just DIED. You watched someone's LIFE END. That's nothing to dance over, no matter how much he may have deserved it.
Please, just treat this with dignity, that's all I'm asking. Human life is fragile, and we must avoid cheapening it at any cost. No matter how much of a douchebag he was
Later, I'll post some pics of the Kurds he murdered in his own paranoid delusions, just to show the opposite flip of the coin. I assure you, their demise was a lot more gruesome than this; the books I have depicting their ends keep me up at night sometimes. This is important. We NEED to be kept up at night sometimes, otherwise our concience seems to just slip away and we start doing stupid things, like... I don't know, invading other countries and murdering their civilians?
