I didn't think I had any more crying left in me, but look - here I am. I bookmarked this, because I'm going to want to read and re-read it; it's beautiful. Thank you.
I love that this universe's last message to us is so similiar to what I pulled from Firefly as well - keep flying, keep fighting. The doing is what's important. Failing does not mean you've lost. It's a powerful statement, and accounts for how much hope I have from 'Not Fade Away.' What a perfect title, for a perfect finale. "What a show," indeed.
And thank you, for such a beautiful comment, and for being one of the people that has made my whole experience of watching this show one I'll treasure.
Failing does not mean you've lost.
Oh, you're so right, and wasn't it a magnificent statement to make? It's one I know that means an awful lot to me personally. And what an inspiring note to go out on.
Wow. That was just...wow. So eloquent and perfect - sorry I can't be the same in my reply. But really, thank you so much for sharing your thoughts with us. *HUGS*
Thank you *so* much. It's such a treat for me to be able to share my thoughts with such lovely friends, and it makes me so happy to know that they're appreciated. I appreciate you too! Thank you. :)
Good god, girl, you've done it again. Not only saying what I wish I had the words for but reminding me (as if I needed it) why I am so glad I know you. Thank you.
Oh Emma, thank you *so* much, sweetie. And I absolutely will get back to your post as soon as I'm a bit caught up with my essays.
I'm really sorry to be so quiet at the moment. Essay progress is very slow. But know that you're very much in my thoughts, and I hope things are continuing to be positive and hopeful for you.
You've written and described beautifully what this show really meant to the fans. Buffy and Angel were never just shows. The Buffyverse as a whole is one big epic story, told from the first episode of Buffy to the last episode of Angel. It taught us about accepting ourselves and others and to never give up, no matter the cost. I do believe that the story Joss had told stands along side great epics such as the Illiad(?) and the Odyssey.
Thank you so much. And I agree with you. It has been an epic story, that stands alongside all great works of fiction that has such profound statements to make, and made them so well.
I'm so grateful to you for taking the time to comment here! Thank you for some really lovely thoughts.
Just beautiful. Word and word and word ... This ep filled my soul with joy and wonder. Poor Lorne broke my heart too. It's going to take him a long time, if ever, to recover from what he did.
A poem for Cecily, that is a poem about Drusilla; about his turning; about Buffy; about a moment on the hellmouth when a vampire with a soul gave everything he had to save the world; about everything that makes him who he is. Ah ha ... now I see. Yes!
Thank you so much, Tia. It's such a treat to have such dear and wonderful friends to share this show with.

Oh, me too. It was such an uplifting finish.
And oh, poor Lorne! I've decided he needs to go to Rome. Buffy would look after him, and all those fresh-faced slayerettes would help rekindle his faith in humanity. I think, in time, he'd love to run his own bar there, and I just know he speaks beautiful Italian. :)
