In which I talk about my favourite subject. Lots.

I can't remember what the original purpose of this was, or what exactly I was aiming for, or why, or anything. It's by no means comprehensive - just a collection of half-thoughts, the beginning of which you’ve seen already, the rest of which I've been mumbling about for ages ( Read more... )

Oh how I love you for this post. It contains such brilliance, but I think I loved this most of all:

When I think of Buffy and Spike, most often they are side by side. I think of the back doorstep in Fool For Love, in Flooded, the moment he sits down beside her in Touched, the night he holds her while she lies awake in Chosen.
Can I come live inside your head for a while?

And I love you too, for taking the time to read it all, and being so lovely as to comment.

I think that's my favourite part too...no credit to me, that's just the way it is.

And if you can fit in between Buffy and Spike and Captain Jack Sparrow, you are very welcome to come and stay inside my head for a bit. Does that mean I would have your extraordinary icon-making abilities? Talking of which, guh! That one is just gorgeous.

Now that sounds like a dream position to be in!

Thanks for the compliment on the icon, I'm feeling particularly proud of that one because the colors turned out exactly like I wanted, which doesn't happen all that often.

Aww honey...I've only got half way through so far and I keep going 'Uhuh, uhuh.' and nodding. I'm looking like one of those toy dogs you see in the back of cars. How do you do this? I mean, really. You get to the root of Spuffy, yet again. Heh, but I still find your Dru/Spike theories amusing. But that might have been the hour and the alcohol.

Sorry, tangent. Trust you to return from a long absence with a bang. You blow me away.

w...w...what are my spike/dru theories? th...th...they aren't on the tape are they?

::shivers::
::curses tape::

and thank you, sweetie. I fell so madly in love with Captain Jack Sparrow at the weekend that I thought I owed Buffy and Spike something by way of compensation...

No, they're not on tape LOL. They were the ones that we rambled about after lights out on my birthday.

Actually I can't remember much about them except they seem phenominally profound at the time.

Anywho, drop me a line and let me know what you're up to. Missed you!

Oh of course! Your Dru impressions!!

Isn't it sad that all profound thoughts happen after lights out and alcohol? Or, actually, strawberry milkshake. Still, the fact remains that they rarely see the light of day.

Must go to bed now, but will be in touch v. soon!

[sigh] That's all I can do, after this intelligent, insightful post that makes things seem both simpler and harder. Thank you so much!

Wow. What fantastic thoughts and analysis, Anna. I particularly like your interpretation of "As You Were," as much as I despise and loathe that episode, if I try watching it with the filter you've created for me it might just be bearable now. ;^)

Seriously, though, your entire post has blown me away. Thanks for sharing it.

And thank you, for reading it and for your lovely comments!

I don't know that anybody likes all of As You Were, but the B/S parts of it make sense to me. And it's beautiful in places.

Oh wow, Anna. Thank you so much for the brilliant thoughts! ::pets your pretty brain::

I think I *needed* to read this, you know? Because I've been sort of afraid that my love for Buffy-and-Spike might be fading and you've just assured me it won't. Because love is what I do. And I love them exactly like you write about them.

I love you also, if only just for this:

When I think of Buffy and Spike, most often they are side by side. I think of the back doorstep in Fool For Love, in Flooded, the moment he sits down beside her in Touched, the night he holds her while she lies awake in Chosen.

That says it all for me.

That is Buffy-and-Spike, in a nutshell. It says it all for me too.

::is teary and almost-crying, but incredibly happy::

Thank you so much, Tissa. You are quite lovely and wonderful, you know, and I'm so glad this made you happy.

I needed it too. Because Buffy-and-Spike are a little bit in the background nowadays, and I didn't want to put them to one side with so much still left unsaid.

I probably have a hundred more things I could say still, but I feel like I can sleep peacefully now, at least. :)
