At first I didn't think much of it and was reluctant to join. It's no different than facebook and twitter, right? Wrong. Plurk has one important thing they haven't got. Anonymity.
It's like the LJ of short-worded updates. All of the same awesomeness with only a fraction of the word count. I love it. No annoying family, distant cousins, and weird acquaintances to worry about. Just me and whoever I want to stay in contact with.
I've also found it incredibly useful. So far I've only been using it to keep in contact with RP partners, but lately I've noticed that I don't have as much time and energy for long, thoughtful entries as I used to. It's much easier to make a quick update about my status to let people know what's going on in my life. So I'd like to share it with you guys as well. I would like to invite everyone here to
join me on plurk, or even just read about
how I ruined my hair.
The set-up is also much more conductive to conversations than facebook. The timeline format threw me off at first because it's so different than anything I've done before, but once you get the hang of it the interaction is very intuitive. (The conversations are sort of IM-like.) I'll still be doing my regular srsbsnss LJ entries here, but I will be updating plurk much more often. (And with much more trivial subject matter, for the most part.)
I'd be very happy to see you guys there.
