Choc chip cookies

Jun 15, 2006 11:15

I know that this recipe already exists in LJ space somewhere (after all, that's how I got it), but I can never find it. Next time someone asks me about it, I will finally know where it is.

With continued thanks to mihatenu_juri. These babies have made me a lot of friends.

1 1/8 cup (3dL) sifted plain flour
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt (optional)
1/2 cup (1.25dL) softened butter
1 egg 1
3/4 tsp vanilla essence (or 1 table spoon of vanilj socker)
200g chocolate chips
1 cup (2.5dL) brown sugar

Combine brown sugar, butter, egg and vanilla in a bowl.
In another bowl combine the flour, baking soda and salt.
Mix them both together and then add the chocolate chips.

Bake them for 8-10 minutes at 190C
These cookies are supposed to be soft. They look _really_ undercooked when you first take them out, but they do firm up as they cool. Resist the temptation to put them back in for a bit longer.

1 stephiepenguin tells me that one small banana, 3 tsp of applesauce, and about another 1/8 tsp of bicarb may be used in place of the egg with good results.
