MegaTen Wiki[personality] A quick glance in his direction and one could leave with the impression that Akihiko is a straight-faced, quiet young man. He appears generally impassive to the world around him, preferring to keep to himself. That lone wolf persona has served him well at school, but it doesn't quite fit the bill, either. Not anymore, at least. The growing up in an orphanage and losing his sister, Miki, in the fire that burned it down has left a lasting impression on him. It is that loss, that feeling of powerlessness and the inability to do anything to help or fight that drives him to become who he is.
For a while, Akihiko is all but obsessed with gaining more power and growing stronger. Not because he wants the glorified position of being powerful, but so he can fight for what he needs and protect what he must. It is this need for improvement that drives him towards boxing, which turns out to be just what he needs. In that sense, he can be very single-minded, drawing comparisons between real life and a boxing match. It's not so much that it's all he thinks about, but it's that athletics in general are something he understands well, which further supplements his comprehension in other situations as well. He makes a point to stay active and fit, which in turn gains him notoriety he really doesn't seem to care about. Odd, considering his dorm room is a proud display of every trophy he's ever won.
This has also earned him a growing fanbase, mostly of the female sex. Akihiko tends to ignore them, finding their squeals and idle praising to be more annoying than anything else. In fact, he can be downright cold--albiet unintentionally, he's just being honest--to them, but it seems they are an unshakeable bunch. He deals with it.
His life takes another turning point when he is approached by one Mitsuru Kirijo after a boxing match in junior high. It is then that he is given the chance to train outside of the ring: with his Persona. Both he and his best friend from the orphanage, Shinijro Aragaki, join the group "S.E.E.S.", cleverly disguised as a school club in order to fight shadows during the Dark Hour. For Akihiko, it's the perfect opportunity to train in an arena he never could before and gain a new sort of power to put at his disposal. But when one night goes horribly awry and Shinji's Persona goes berserk, an innocent person dies. The guilt causes Shinji to leave the group, putting some distance to their relationship that Akihiko was constantly trying to bridge over the years. While they stayed friends, it was never quite the same.
Akihiko blames Shinji as a deserter and uses his faults to further affirm his own ideas that he just needs to train more and gain more power in order to right the wrongs and not let these mistakes keep happening. So he dives headfirst into fighting Shadows, finding it an inconvenience when he can't do it when he wants. It is not until Shinjiro meets his own death after a short time back with S.E.E.S. that Akihiko realizes that he was wrong. What was originally intended to be an instrument to protect turned into a monster of his own; he became so taken with the idea of growing powerful that he lost sight of his original goal. Inspired by his friend's sacrifice, Akihiko learns that remembering and revering the past is one thing, but carrying it around as a burden will only hold you back. With this new resolve, he moves forward with new confident and the sense of purpose he had lost along the way.
Confident, but thoughtful, Akihiko understands his limits, but likes to test them. After all, how else are you going to grow? He finds a thrill in the fight and, while he knows the situation is definitely life or death, he still manages to find a bit of fun in it as well. Yet for all his poise on the battlefield, Akihiko can be socially inept in certain situations. Calm, every day chats are fine, and while some references go over his head, he is more or less your average guy. But when confronted with girls as girls, he turns into a puddle of awkward. That same champion boxer you saw in the ring? Yeah, he's gone. Akihiko will stutter and laugh awkwardly and then kick himself over his mistakes later. He half cares and he half doesn't; part of it is about the fact that he just doesn't really know how to talk to girls. Ironic, considering he has a horde that's willing to follow him.
Loyal to a fault and fiercely protective of what's important to him, Akihiko will go to the ends of the earth if that's what it takes. He is supportive of his friends and finds their strengths, but is also not afraid to let them know of their weaknesses, either. All in the name of self-improvement, which is his underlying motivation. If there's an opportunity to grow? Grab it, and don't let it go. Time is precious so it should be used as best as possible.
[orientation] Awkward leaning towards heterosexual. For the most part, Akihiko seems to completely miss the sexual side of most things, not being able to pick up on the fact that girls follow him around because they think he's hot. His focus tends to be mainly on training and training and...well, training, so it doesn't leave much room for anything else. However, he's distinctly awkward and kind of adorable during the Babe Hunt in FES and consequently is upset at himself for failing so hard. In fact, he even takes advice on talking to women from Junpei and self-help books. It frustrates him, but he still goes through the effort, which shows at least that talking to women is something that has value to him. In P3Portable, if you choose the female protagonist, you have the option of forming a romantic social link with him as well, which further indicates his leaning towards women. However, it isn't an easy route to take and he really sees her as a little sister for most of the game, which shows that he still isn't completely there in the realm of sex.
[appearance] N/A, unchanged.
[wish] To be able to bring his little sister Miki back some how.
[requested house] Tsuyosa Household in the Spindle district. He is an athlete. Period. He pretty much defines himself by the sports he participates in, working out, and becoming stronger. Plus, they also run a butcher shop. And Akihiko loves beef.
[misc notes] As with the rest of his group, Akihiko's main ability is that to summon his
Persona, which at this point in canon has evolved into his ultimate Persona,
Caesar. His speciality lies in electricity-based skills, though Akihiko is an adequate healer as well. His weakness lies in ice-based attacks. Given that they won't be able to use these abilities, though, Akihiko would be just like any other human around. He may be particularly prone to frostbite, though.

[ The video feed clicks on as the device is kicked across the floor, colliding with the wall. It delivers a skewed image of what is going on. What can been seen are some feet close up, and as they move out of the way, a clear image of Akihiko being held back by another man. ]
I'm saying, that's not true!
[ The man he's yelling at is clearly the one in charge and looks exacerbated. ]
Get with the program, kid. I don't got time for this.
[ Akihiko struggles against the person holding him back, fists looking a little bruised without his gloves on. ]
I didn't sign anything! Dammit, I shouldn't even be here!
Yeah, you and everyone else. Now calm down or you're really not going to like it around here.
[ Akihiko grits his teeth, finally yanking his left arm free to take a swing at the man. The one holding him let's go completely as he makes contact with the owner's shoulder, only to have a wooden plank swung back up at him. He skids across the floor and into the device, successfully ending the feed. ]
[smut drabble]
The nice thing about futon was that they were essentially soundless. What noises he could hear was the rustling of fabric and the heavy pant of his own breath in between her eager cooing. It made him more nervous than he could ever admit, heat rising up the back of his neck and tinging the lobes of his ears, not only from what they were doing but from just how horribly on the spot he felt. Even though the only audience he had was here, the need to perform and not look like a complete fool was overwhelming.
One hand was braced just to the left of her head, while the other gripped her hip. The muscles in his back flexed with each thrust, sweat dripping down between his shoulder blades. His yukata was hanging off his waist, negligible given that it was open; her's was off to the side, completely forgotten. Fingers tightening on the sheets, Akihiko wondered if it was obvious just how inexperienced he really was. She was paying, of course, but that didn't make him an expert by any standard. The fact he was doing it in the first place, that he even entertained the thought...
A particularly loud moan from her broke his concentration, a clearly surprised look finding its way on his face. Akihiko blinked, unsure if he had done something wrong or right, but the way she tightened around him erased any of that confusion. He groaned, leaning forward slightly as his eyes fell shut. He swallowed around the lump in his throat, knowing that he was doing a good impression of a tomato right then. A jolt of electricity shot up his spine, reminding him that this wasn't just about her feeling good. He shivered.
She gave an airy laugh. He felt his blush increase.
Just as Akihiko opened his eyes, he suddenly found himself from a new vantage point. He gave a surprised 'unf' as she tightened her legs around his hips, flipping them over so that he was staring wide-eyed up at her. His masculinity had just dropped a few points, he was sure, but despite his insecurities, she almost seemed...pleased.
"I-I--" he started, but her finger on his lips cut him off.
"Shhh," she hushed, pulling her hips back before gently sliding back down. Akihiko could not stop the groan as he felt himself dig deeper than before, a hand falling over his eyes. She laughed sweetly again, finding a good rhythm. His groin was aching and his pelvis was sore, but his hips somehow found the energy to move on their own. As embarrassing as it all was, the fatigue in his muscles was a good kind of fatigue, hard-earned and satisfying.
If he had known this was going to be such a work out he might have tried it sooner.
