Everyone, Malingo. Malingo, everyone. Malingo rocks. I finished Abarat. Sadly. There's a second book that came out a month or more ago, but only Borders has it (I didn't even know we had a Borders!... it's kinda far), and I hope it's longer ( Read more... )

Ooh, I like him. He's very lizardy, and I tend to decorate with lizards. :-)

He's a geshrat, and was a slave! But Candy helped him find the courage within and now he is free. He is also affectionate and polite which is why I like him so. Not sure how lizardy he is, though his skin is supposed to be leathery. But I certainly see lizardesque features, too.

It's so strange to go from Barker's sex and magic to hugs and magic. :)

I so envy your enthusiasm to read books >> I want to read a few books too (The Art of War, The Purpose Driven Life, and the whole set of Tolkien's books have been recommended to me, and I think I'll enjoy them), but whenever I notice the thickness of said books, I sort of cringe and put off reading for another day. *le sigh*

Ah, but if it's a good one the thicker the better! Imajica is probably the longest (thickest!) book I've ever read (in one volume), and yet once it's over I wish there was more. If I let size scare me I'd miss out on some very wonderful books.

Everyone reads a page at a time. It's the starting that distinguishes us.
