A/N: This is dedicated to my amazing friend Heidi, for her birthday <3. Wish I could be there, but this is the most I could do. Hope you like it :)

When Mark was five, he first became aware of the fact that his eyes were two different colours. He became obsessed with the other eye, the eye of his soulmate. He would sit for hours staring at it in the mirror. He wanted to see if he could see into the eyes of his soulmate and out again to find out where they were. He had another brown eye, but this brown was different, it was more beautiful, it was luxurious and seemed to go on forever. It had little flecks of yellow in, giving it a more interesting dimension. Mark felt sorry for his soulmate, his eye (his right eye was his actual eye colour) was just brown. dead brown. He wanted to have the lively eyes that belonged to his soulmate with the rich colour. Mark knew his obsession with the eye colour was weird. His brother had one green eye, that was a lot more interesting that two brown eyes, but Mark was still obsessed.

He was disappointed when he got to eighteen and still hadn't met his soulmate, it was beginning to get frustrating. He wondered so much about his soulmate, was it a boy or a girl - he was hoping it was a boy, he knew he was gay and honestly he didn't want to be one of those people who's soulmate was meant to just be a friend, he wanted to be swept off his feet. He wanted the bond his parents had, the one that all his siblings had. He just wanted to experience life the way everyone who had a normal soulmate did. He had an uncle who's soulmate was just a best friend and it wasn't nearly has fun.

Mark start working at an international company shortly after graduating, he was in the PR department, he didn't mind. He got to do a lot of research which wasn't all that bad in the end. He liked his co-workers and his boss wasn't a complete asshole. He did work a lot of overtime but he didn't mind, it kept him away from the disappointed looks he got from his family about not finding his soulmate. He wanted to, but maybe he was never going to find them. Maybe they were just going to be illusive. The best part about Mark's soulmate also having brown eyes was unless people focused they all assumed, two brown eyes - found his soulmate, so he didn't get the constant questions about why he hadn't found his match.

It was two years after he started when they were all called into a meeting. They were getting a new head of PR, apparently instead of promoting someone from the California branch, they were going to be sending someone in from their headquarters in Hong Kong. Mark rolled his eyes, he should have been up for the promotion instead of giving it to someone from Hong Kong but it was nothing he could do anything about, clearly none of them were as good as this guy, who was younger than he was.

Not that he minded. Age wasn't a reason to look down on someone. Mark just went about his work the first day his new 'boss' arrived. It wasn't that he was ignoring him, he just didn't have anything nice to say. He hadn't see the man's work and he hadn't addressed the team as a whole. He'd just gone about his day.

Three weeks later and no one had seen the mysterious Mr.Wang who was always holed up in his office working alone. Mark was beginning to wonder if Mr.Wang was even in, or had a first name, or spoke English. He didn't have to wait too long to find out the answer. The staff planned a night out, and Mr.Wang (who had signed his name Jackson when he rsvp'd) was going to come. Mark rolled his eyes reading over the name. He wondered if Jackson was actually going to show up.

He was surprised, they all went from work to the bar and started drinking, Jackson didn’t come til later and Mark didn’t think to look, he was too busy getting drunk with his friend Jinyoung from the office, now Jinyoung already had his soulmate - and a whole theory that they had been together constantly through the ages because he had flashback dreams. Mark was pretty sure it was possible, there had to be a logic to this whole soulmate mess. Although clearly not that much as he hadn’t met his yet.

Jinyoung left early, because Jaebum ‘needed’ him. aka he was drunk and wanted to get some from Jaebum. Mark didn’t mind, he was a big boy, he could drink by himself and was quite comfortable with their other co-workers. He barely looked over when he felt a presence next to him, he knew it was Jackson. He downed more of his drink as the others began discussing how Mark hadn’t found his soulmate.

“Nothing wrong with that.” Jackson said from his side. Mark laughed a little at the other. “I haven’t found mine.” Jackson smiled.

“Yeah, maybe I’m just not meant to meet him yet.” Mark laughed a little. Many more shots later Mark ended up in the bathroom, with his pants at opened with Jackson’s lips parted around him. Mark’s hand gripped Jackson’s hair giving it a little tug. He rocked his hips slightly and laughed when he heard Jackson whine.

“Do you want me to finish you off?” he said in between giving the head of Mark’s erect cock a few kisses. “Or I can leave you this hard.” he mumbled, Mark shook his head, he wanted this to be done. He wanted to cum, god it had been so long since he’d last got some from someone that wasn’t his own right hand. Mark moved to cover his mouth as he let out a string of whimpers as Jackson slowly took him all in again, Mark could feel Jackson’s throat constricting around him.

“I’m going to cum.” Mark gasped seconds before he shot his load. He looked down as Jackson carefully put Mark back in his pants and fixed himself up. Mark panted leaning against the stall door. “Want me to-”

“No, I’m not really into oral.” Jackson said with a shrug, “and I can’t get any cum on my suit so, you’ll just have to owe me.”

Mark just nodded, trying to hide the slight blush on his cheeks by looking down. Mark followed Jackson out of the stall but stopped to wash his face slightly, as if it wasn’t obvious to everyone that they’d both gone to the bathroom to have a quickie.

Mark woke the next day in his own bed - a pleasant change to where he normally woke after drinking. He had sorta hoped he’d wake up in Jackson’s bed, but that was just stupid. He’d have been kicked out in the morning because no one really wanted to spend time with someone who wasn’t their soulmate, it was in the end counterproductive. Mark showered, wondering why they always had work nights out on a wednesday, it made no sense as they then had to work hungover. He then wondered why he’d done Tequilla shots when he knew he had work.

He came out of the shower and went to check if he needed to shave. He stopped when he saw his reflection in the mirror. His eyes were the same. He checked again, definitely the same. He moved to grab his phone dialling Jinyoung - who was always around to deal with Mark’s crisis.

“Jinyoung.” Mark said just as a very sleepy Jinyoung answered, “we have a problem, like a huge problem.”

“Are you lost again?” Jinyoung mumbled, “because last time your directions were terrible, ‘I’m by a tree’, doesn’t help, so unless you can give me more information, I’m not getting out of bed.” Mark rolled his eyes, that was one time. He then heard Jinyoung talking in Korean - so he assumed it was about him - to Jaebum. “Jae thinks I’m still over the legal limit, so he can come get you.”

“It’s not that.” Mark said still staring at the mirror. “My eyes are the same colour”

“Your eyes are always the same colour Mark.”

“No. I mean, they are both my eyes.” Mark said taking a deep breath to stop himself screaming like a schoolgirl about this. “I saw my soulmate.”

“In a crowded club.” Jinyoung said, Mark could hear him moving in the background and could hear Jaebum whining. “So what is your plan?”

“Hunt him down.” Mark said quietly. He paused a little, “I need to check Jackson.”

“You think our boss is your soulmate? For real?” Mark could hear the sassy eyebrow raise he knew Jinyoung was doing. “I don’t think so Mark, why would your soulmate be from Hong Kong, it’s a freak thing you’re meeting him.”

“What happened to you, Mr. everyone is destined to meet their soulmate.” Mark took a deep breath, “Well he has brown eyes. So I thought we should start from what I know.” Mark felt it was best to leave the blow job out of this conversation, Jinyoung was slightly disapproving of Mark’s attitude towards sex, and Mark didn’t want to hear another ‘my first time was with my soulmate’ talk. Jinyoung had met his soulmate at sixteen so he’d had it easy.

Mark practically ran to work that day, and sat at his desk with his to-go coffee. He prayed it was Jackson, not because of the oral sex, but because if it was some random guy from the club he’d never see him again. It, however, didn’t take long for Mark to get the chance to talk to Jackson as he was called to see him in his office.

“Mr. Tuan” Jackson said before gesturing to a seat. Mark sat down and looked at his hands, he was shy and he had also just convinced himself he was going to be fired because he had sex with his boss. “Can you look at me please.” Jackson said, Mark didn’t and Jackson got up moving round to where Mark was sat and took a hold of his tie. He then moved Mark’s head gently so their eyes met.

Mark felt almost mesmerized, those were the eyes he’d been looking for, the eyes he’d been obsessed with since he was five. The eyes he’d spent his whole life searching for. “Soulmate.” he said, and Jackson just laughed a little.

“Yes, it seems we are.” He smiled at the other, letting go of his tie and moving to sit back down. “So, we’re soulmates, you’re single right? I’m not really into home-wrecking and you seemed really close to that guy-”

“I’m single and ew, Jinyoung? He’s so not my type and he’s taken by his soulmate and they’re disgustingly in love with each other.” Mark couldn’t help but ramble out of nerves. He didn’t really know what the protocol was for my boss is also my soulmate. He was sort of hoping Jackson would take the lead on this one and tell him how they should go about this.

“Friday, after work let’s go out to eat. Get to know each other, see what we want to do about this whole soulmate thing.” Jackson said quietly, flicking through his diary. “I know this great Chinese place, you’re Chinese right? So you don’t mind?”

“Taiwanese, technically.” Mark said, “but Chinese food is great, there are some really good places round here.” Mark paused before quickly adding, “I don’t speak any Mandarin though.”

Jackson laughed a little, “Born here right?”, he smiled, “that’s fine, I’m fluent in English so it doesn’t matter, and I speak Mandarin fine so if we need to then I can do it, but I’m sure we can get by with just English.” he laughed, before giving Mark a teasing grin, “You can use chopsticks right? That’s a deal breaker.”

Mark whined a little, “yes, I use them perfectly.”, he wondered if Jackson was going to be like this for the whole of their lives together as soulmates (he concluded most likely). He also made a note to talk to his dad about trying to pick up Mandarin just to make a point.

Friday came - and Mark had begged Jinyoung to come over and help him get ready to go out with Jackson for their first date. It had somehow turned into a high school-esque lecture about not just ‘giving it away’. Mark wondered if Jinyoung had suddenly forgotten he wasn’t a virgin, but he was going to let it carry on. He was happy and Jinyoung was probably happier than he was that he’d found his soulmate.

The restaurant was nice, Mark noted that it was expensive. He wouldn’t have minded going to a Mcdonalds but this was definitely nicer than any Mcdonalds in this area. He didn’t really know what to say to Jackson, they were soulmates. They had forever. They ordered and then sat waiting for the food. “Mark, I want you to call me Jia-er.” Jackson said quietly, “everyone calls me Jackson but you’re my soulmate you deserve something special.”

“Then you use my Chinese name, Yi-en” Mark said with a small smile, Jackson nodded. It was cute, it was something between them, not even Mark’s parents used his Chinese name, so he was pretty sure that it would be all but exclusive between the two of them. “What are you parent’s like?” Mark said before just taking a sip of his drink, could he get much lamer.

“Both gold medal winning athletes, my dad was a fencer and my mom a gymnast.”

“Wow,” Mark said quietly. “Did you-?”

“Yeah, I was a fencer, I won gold medals for my country too, but I tore my ACL when I was eighteen and I never recovered.” He said with a sad smile.

Mark ended up back at Jackson’s after dinner, just hanging out of the sofa watching old films. Mark moved to rest against Jackson and the other wrapped his arm around Mark. “it’s weird, this is our first date but it feels like I’ve always known you.” Jackson said quietly, “Like we were never looking for a soulmate.”

“We have always known each other,” Mark said quietly, “We’re one soul between two bodies.” Mark looked at Jackson “and we’ve always been connected, our eyes were the physical sign of the red string that intertwines our fates.”

Jackson let out a small chuckle, “Yeah, I guess you’re right. The string can twist, tangle and stretch-”

“But never break”, they both finished together.
