It's 4 am. Woke up from the weirdest dream - my lungs whistling and rattling like a piece of machinery that should have been put out of business around the turn of the century. No, not this one, the one before that.
Dreamt I slept between two WIPs (Huh?). Turning over to the right and re-adjusting the comforter, I notice that both have been updated. So, I start reading the WIP I'm facing. Just as I start the new chapter and try to get into the story I realize that I've forgotten what the story is actually about. So, I randomly skip through previous chapters and suddenly find myself caught up in a conversation that seems to go on between the lines. I want to add to it but as soon as the thoughts form in my mind I either see them magically appear - written by someone else - or I'm unable to make sense in my comment. I try over and over again, struggle with my sentences until I grow frustrated and decide to leave it for another day. Then, I turn over to the WIP to my left.
Just as I'm settling in to read I see, that it's not a chapter that's been added to this one but the writer's eyes are looking at me through the black letters as if from behind bars separating us. I ask, "Why are you doing this?" And she replies, "Slash is like pairing inertia and momentum." That's when a coughing fit propelled me out of sleep.
Anybody know a good shrink?
ETA: What would I dream about if I were sane? Perfectly platonic friends kissing me & ex-boyfriends showing up wth wife & kiddies? HELP????
That's what I dreamt of in the long night's second half. Maybe I'm only half-crazy. Hmmm?!
