I'm not sure if any of you want to go on an adventure of this type, but I'm gonna ask anyway.
I'm doing a big presentation on blah blah blah and I'm looking for a photo of Nicholson Blocks. It looks like the last example of Nicholson Blocks still around is to be found in Cook County, IL. Now, WHERE in Cook County, I don't know.
If you want to know what Nicholson Blocks are, check this out. Yeah, it's Wikipedia, but it's quite accurate.

In short, though, Nicholson Blocks are wooden pavers that were used on streets back in the day to replace wooden planks or cobblestones. They looked like this:
You can see the difference between the top rows of wooden Nicholson Blocks versus the cobblestones on the lower rows.
