Is LiveJournal Dead ?
Why would I post this to our community? Well, for one, asking is LiveJournal dead does have a lot to do with the economy in general, when you stop and think about it. And, more to the point, LiveJournal is still the platform we have chosen to use for this community forum. (More on that later.)

Their new default appearance causes headaches in a great many people and they refuse to comply with standards set for this. Complying with standards for not causing migraines in the customers is basic PR. I paid them for more years than I can remember. No more.
They've basically said they don't give a damn about English using customers.
They've compromised my financial information, discriminated against my disability, refused to reply to my BBB complaints and last fall gave me complete control over somebody else's account. And wonder why I'm upset with a company that has screwed up so many times in such a short time and won't even take 5 minutes to have a minion mail me a form letter on paper in physical envelope. Stuff like that means a lot to people who can remember things like customer service being a fact of life.
They aren't dead, they aren't almost dead, but it has begun.

I do think that LJ may very well get sold again. But is that really the "fix"? Customer service just about anywhere these days is crap. Companies aren't into paying for it. Everything has become commoditized. Granted, LJ is owned by a Russian co, but is FB customer service any better? FB security???
