The unemployment rate in Williams County, ND (Williston) for September 2011 is 0.9%. That's ZERO POINT NINE.

Amazingly low unemployment rate there! What will the people do come winter who are having to sleep in their cars?

There was a comment posted here and in my LJ no not you babystrangeloop from one of those spambots (Welcome, great post! Buy designer purses made from real crocodiles at my website blah blah) that I apparently have the ability to delete since it was my top level post, heh.

Winter will find people either... still sleeping in their cars, finding other arrangements, or leaving. Best not to die for a paycheck, I agree. These communities are doing the best that they can and it's overwhelming a lot of the infrastructure. BUT little ol' Williston has been adding housing as fast as they can.

Keep in mind there's only so many construction crews in the area, and there's also nowhere for outside construction crews to stay while they work, either. It's a tough puzzle.
