What, do you expect the oligarchy's propaganda instruments to actually tell the truth or something?

"Oh, sure, they'd steal all our money and enslave half the planet and trash the environment and blow up little kids in fruitless wars... but I never expected the establishment to actually tell LIES about these things!

Now, how many criminal gangs have been known to be absolutely honest about their dealings? Very few, I'd wager. Now the elite have at some point in the last ten years basically crossed the line and changed from a ruling elite to an outright criminal conspiracy. They steal, they rob, they pollute, they kill. Why the hell are people acting so surprised that they also lie about that fact?
