Gasoline averaged around $4.29 per gallon in West Michigan on Tuesday night, but there are several ways to avoid paying the wholesale price.
The Rapid millage passed narrowly Tuesday night, with the final margin just 136 votes.
It was by no means a mandate, but supporters did manage to get out enough votes to pay for additional bus service in six Kent County communities.
