You know, these are jobs that employ millions. Not substitute teaching, not chemical engineering, not senator or president. Retail, hospitality, the wretched fast food industry... it's a paycheck, good or bad, and not everyone has the opportunity or privilege to work elsewhere.
People who look down on these jobs now, would still look down on them if they were unionized, paid well, and had benefits out the ass. It's the young middle class white man's tears bleeding all over my fucking browser page. And he'd be the first to bitch out the middle age first generation immigrant because his fucking french fries weren't in his fucking order.

ETA: And I'm one of those fucking customers who needs to find a fucking piece of shit in one of those big box stores, who drove 45 fucking miles to be able to get something I need and can't get in the small town where I live.
