2007-2010 Job Gains/Losses & Quarterly GDP (Updated)

With the release of benchmark revisions, I thought it might be interesting and perhaps a bit illuminating to put up the graphs with these data sets, reflecting their updates. These two series were updated by the BLS & BEA mostly reflecting information for which only guestimates were previously available, but for which hard data now exists.

As a bonus, I'm adding PCE(C) that now goes through the final quarter of last year. In late 2008 and on into 2009, the US saw an unprecedented move: outright decline of PCEC. This rare event is actually much more characteristic of depressions than mere recessions.

Monthly Nonfarm Payrolls. Seasonally-Adj. Change in Thousands

Quarterly GDP. Change in QoQ Percent at Annualized Rates

BONUS: Personal Consumption Expenditures

global financial trainwreck of 2007-?, the great recession, nonfarm payrolls, gdp, pce
