Small Fandoms

Oct 21, 2008 16:23

As a belated birthday present to myself, I'm seeking small fandom recs.  The full list of small fandoms I currently read is below, but I'm pretty open to reading any small fandom, even ones that I've never read before.  I read slash, het, and (occasionally) gen.  All I ask is that the stories be completed and that they have a happy ending.

A few ( Read more... )

It's past my bedtime and I'm beat, but tomorrow I could rec a few good Tony/JARVIS fics - not many, as I haven't read all that much of them, but I found a few really good ones over at alowprofile that I could share. (In the meantime, here one freebie ;-) : while I was looking for that comm I stumbled over Real Friends Help You Get Naked by hackthis which would be the ultimate Tony/everything (sentient to some extent, that is) *and* everyone in his lab, if it had just been more than PG-13 rated. ;-D )

Oh, and fly-by 'Good Omens' Crowley/Aziraphale rec, since I stumbled over it recently and spent lots of time blinking and thinking why in the heck I hadn't read it *ages* ago: A Precise and Accurate History of Monday, Eleven Years Later by giddygeek.

Turns out I've read even fewer IM fics than I had originally thought, but here goes anyway:

Some Tony/Jarvis:

The Body Electric by empy, R, in which Jarvis has been making changes within his code and Tony discovers he never intended some of them - but deep down inside he can't admit to minding them, either.

"Full of Surprises" (part one, two, three, four, five and six by ladylahatiel, NC-17, While Tony was away, Jarvis changed. Tony is about to find out just how much. - in which Tony gets surprised by his enterprising AI, who now comes *cough*blush*badpun* complete with a holographic self-image, and seems to have developed a disturbing ability, or shall we say tendency, to er, flirt. ;-)

Odyssey of the Mind by veldeia, PG-13, He woke up with no memory at all, in a small white room, in the company of a man called Jarvis, who told him that his name was Tony Stark... - in which Tony is struggling to get his memory back, Jarvis is a very attentive nursemaid, and Peper ends up gaining something dispite the big loss, i.e. angst, romance and flashbacks ahoy ( ... )

Dude. I would never have even considered Tony/Jarvis and now I'm all kinds of excited to read it. Thank you!

And I'm also totally on board with crossovers -- when I said Tony/anyone, I really meant Tony/*anyone*. The man could flirt with a brick wall, I tell you (as long as said wall is shiny and has a top-notch AI at any rate:)

Thanks again!

Forgot to mention this last time - at alowprofile you can find some rather fetching pics of Jarvis, and some illustration (there should be one for "Full of Surprises", but I've misplaced the link) - which really do help a lot to visualize the pairing, not to mention that Paul Bettany in a suit? Always a good thing to visualize, mmm-hmmm. *g*

P.S. Dude, Tony/Jarvis is like, canon! *flails* That kind of snarking can only lead to an OTP, I tell you.

A few Tony/others fics coming up, hang on, might take a while to dig up links. ;-)

Paul Bettany always provides a good visual:) Is he actually being cast as Jarvis or does he just provide the voice? (I can't imagine how I could have missed him in the first movie if he actually appeared on screen, but I suck at voices.)

Okay, now I'm imagining PB and RDJ. Together. *sigh*

*WIN* Also, he only did the voice of Jarvis - I know, I was disappointed too... but some good manips sure make for a lot of it. ;-)

Wait, they cast Paul Bettany for the movie and then *didn't put him on screen*? What is wrong with these people?!

Hey, don't look at me - if I had anything to say about it PB's face would've been in every screen in the movie every time. (Not at all an obsessed fangirl, I am. *g* )

So, Iron Man crossovers of the Tony-pairing kind, or close to, at least:

Method to Madness by gixi, IM/Tropic Thunder (wait for it...) Tony Stark/Kirk Lazarus, NC-17 - ta-da! The crossover to melt your mind, provided you know TT and have a kink for RDJ/RDJ. *clears throat, looks around innocently* If Kirk Lazarus is Tony Stark, then Tony Stark is- Well. He's Tony Fucking Stark.

The Things We Did and Didn't Do by siriaeve, IM/SGA, Tony/Rodney, I think milder than R, maybe? in which Rodney tries to recruit an old flame for the SGC, gets rebuffed but ends up spending some quality snarking time in his company, anyway.

(These two I found in the rec tag linked above, but they deserve to be singled out, so.)
Paparazzo by basingstoke, IM/Spiderman (the movies), Tony/Spiderman(Peter), NC-17, which left me flailing and incoherent, so have a golden quote instead of a summary:So, are you a good kid?" Stark asked ( ... )

Have I mentioned how much I love the internet lately? :)

Thanks!

Thank you! Especially for the IM/SPN fic, which cannot be but fabulous -- I love cracky gen SPN fic, what with the lack of incest and the humor (which is, IMO, the best part of the show:)
