Grad School Logistics, Part 2

More grad school... What else have I done?

I just booked my lodging for my January residency on Whidbey Island. I'm rooming with an awesome "hippie" girl from Eugene, Oregon named Bronwyn. She seems quite excited that pot is legal there now. It's a little cute. Also, she works on an organic farm and assures me she loves dogs, so she and kiva should have no trouble. So pretty sweet.
A few weeks ago I met with SSB. We're going to keep my case open for a while, at least. I guess they are going to hire a placement vendor to help me get a job in Seattle. WTF, SSB? Why in the world did they never do this while I was in Minnesota? I told them that I just wanted a stupid little part-time gig, that my first priority was school and the job was just for income purposes, and that was their solution. I think it's great, but am still miffed as to why they didn't take me seriously when I said that's what I wanted in MN too, just SOMETHING so I could stop being unemployed. Oh, well.

I booked my flight to go to Seattle to look at apartments in December. This is the thing I'm most freaked out about. I have three days to get one. I'm not sure what I'll do if I can't do that. I have friends in Seattle, but am not sure if it's appropriate to ask if I can stay with them until I get a place... maybe if I offer to pay rent?

My parents are here this weekend, and I'm sending them home with some things. I'd love to have as little as possible to move in January.

It's coming together. It will continue to come together. This is my mantra.
