I'm back from bootcamp, i've been an offical U.S. Marine since Thursday. I recieved the right and earned my eagle globe and anchor on Thursday the 3rd, I graduated Friday, and just came back to illinois today. I loved parts of bootcamp but there were times I tried to quit, but I must thank my senior drill instructor for telling me no. I return to California on the 14th and I travel to Camp Pendleton early on the 15th in my service Alphas for School Of Infantry, I then report to Infantry Training Battalion and I spend 8 weeks training to become an elite fighting unit on the ground, I kick in doors, shoot to kill, and only to kill, and I kick ass. I'll Walk the streets of Iraq, ride in a Hum-V, while my brothers in arms will be firing .50 caliber rounds into the houses of the enemy, and if it's a fast attack, i'm trained already in repelling so if need be, hook me up to the rope off a helicopter, and I'll slide my ass down the combat zone, and have my weapon on condition 1 before the enemy can sight in. I can drop a human being at 500 yards, and I can put on a gas mask in under 15 seconds. I run 3 miles in 21:10 although i've been smoking for a few days so that is a bit off now, and I do 165 crunches in 2 minutes, and perform an outstanding 19 pull ups. I have a Fitness score of 275 out of 300, first class PFT, and even though i'm only a private I earned my tan belt in basic marine corps martial arts. I've had training in loading and firing the M209 SAW, and AT4 anti tank launcher. I've hiked 54 miles in 3 days with 80lbs of gear, 3 meals and less than 9 hours of sleep. I've endured the most feared members of the Marine corps face to face...Drill instructors. I'm now a U.S. Marine, i'm one of the few and the proud, the words Semper Fidelis mean something to me, and I will stand at attention whenever I hear the Marine Hymn and taps, and I'll salute the Colors whenever I hear our national anthem and Colors play as our stars and stripes rides up that flag pole. I wore camoflauge, and combat boots, I suffered bumps and bruises, cuts, and scrapes, pink eye, and infections, nerve damage and knee issues. I've been broken down and built up, and all so you have the right to walk the streets and say what the government is doing wrong and maintain your fucking salary. I protect your rights, and this country. I'm the first to be called, and the first to fight. I'm part of an elite fighting force and you know what? I'm proud of it, I wear an eagle globe and anchor, and I was thanked all throughout the airport coming home...I'M A FUCKING MARINE AND I GOT WHAT I WANTED, I get to kick in doors, and live the life of a war movie. My training consisted of excessive physical training, dozens of classes, from my M16 a2 service rifle, interior guard duties, and learning how to perform basic first aid, from rescue breathing to applying a tourniquet, keeping your flesh from melting off from a dry chemical burn, to keeping you from dying when your guts are hanging out your stomach, i've repelled off a fucking 55 foot tower, endured a crucible, shot with the best and passed(even though I did it barely, it's still superior to any other branch)I did numerous drill movements with precision, I learned measurements of my uniforms, and how to make a tight and accurate military rack...What did your job training require?
