- According to Wikipedia, the entire population of Chechnya (about half a million people) was deported to Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan during the second World War. The idea that an entire region would be cleaned out, and that they would only be able to return fifteen years later... Wow.
- Actually, all population transfers during and after WWII. Who thought that was a good idea?
- Georgia was the second country to declare Christianity as its official religion.
- We hardly ever talk about the internment of over a hundred thousand Japanese Americans.
Any additions?
