So yes, I was "home" this weekend for Mother's Day. As I'm sure she would readily tell you, I do not get home enough. But Mother's Day is not the reason for my post as the above subject line makes rather clear.
In my old bedroom there sits a miniature chest of drawers. In these drawers rest memories of old. And amongst these memories lie papers and things from high school classes long completed. Anyway, I thought I might share a few random pieces of literature or whatever else suits my fancy.

This means I'm 17, so bear with me or back off.
Sonnet 1
Love is a pain that many knowest of
Though feeling like your heart's candle is lit
And peaceful as the cooing of a dove
Only despair comes to those who seek it
Love's a pain that wants to be known by all
Not only angry but joyous ones too
Feeling held up, love makes most people fall
Take love for granted and it will hurt you
You'll look forever but love you won't find
When you stop looking then love will appear
Even though afraid since love is unkind
Love comforts you and erases your fear
Whether in daytime or in the black night
Love will find you when the time is right
In my defense, I was a dork.
I still am one, but that's beside the point.
Or maybe that's still the point.
Dunno.
