In anticipation of her return it got me thinking about my Mary Lives verse that I wrote several years ago, in which John is the one who dies in the fire, and I decided to tidy it up a little and have posted it on my AO3. I had always intended to expand upon it. But well other bunnies sprung up and waved their fluffy tails at me lol

*smishes* Thank you so much, hon ♥ And yeah Dean was a heartbreaker right from the start, and he always wanted to keep his family together, and of course here he can see and feel Mary's pain and sadness and he wants to make her happy again. Gah I want to smoosh him up lol my initial intention in writing this was so that he could get more hugs. heh ♥♥

It's heartbreaking to see where Dean began blaming himself for everything that happens in their lives. Such a tender age. It makes me wonder if this is why Dean is so good with children, he's been there, and experienced evil and had to grow up so fast. To be there for his brother, his family.

He deserves all the hugs and more! *hearts him*

Oh I know, that memory of Dean's from Dark Side of the Moon, ugh!! So fucking heartbreaking. And well even before that, with the flashes into their past and the weight that was put onto his shoulders, it's so immense. And aww, yeah, I love when we get to see Dean with kids, I think that definitely plays a very integral part of why he does just get them.

And yes he does!! He deserves everything! See now you're making me want to write things in which he gets hugs/comfort again lol ;P

Dark Side of the Moon was definitely heartbreaking. That hitch in Dean's breath when he saw Sam's memory and the dog. How Sam had disappeared on Dean's watch, and John's reaction.

It makes me cry whenever I see Dean taking on the blame. Yes he was older, but he was still just a kid, a kid with the weight of the world on his shoulders. *sniffles*

See now you're making me want to write things in which he gets hugs/comfort again lol ;P I could shake my pompoms in your direction :)

Gah, I know, and then Zach's manipulation of Dean's memory, still makes me want to stab him so, so much. I'm getting emotional just thinking about it.

And yes. He was only 4 when it happened. When all that responsibility was forced on him, to be Sammy's protector. John wanting him to act like an adult, expecting him to make adult decisions, and not act, or act out like the kid he was.

And bwa ha to your icon, lol and thanks ♥ hmm, think I'd have to put a bit more thought into though lol All that I know I want is Dean and hugs lol not sure on plot or who should do said comforting lol

God yes! I hated Zach in that moment. Not that I liked him much either way, but I loved that he could rouse such emotions from me. He was one of the characters you loved to hate.

Oh boys they break my heart, the both of them. I'm glad Sam had his brother growing up, while Dean... I'd liked to think things would be different with what you've written that Mary would allow Dean to be the kid he was and to show him love and affection. Sure she tells him to watch out for Sam, but in a motherly way, less harsh and unforgiving.

Just, yeah, thank you so much for writing this, it really touched my heart! ♥

It touches me that there are others out there that want hugs for Dean. Whether you write more or not, just thank you for this!

Oh yeah, Zach was a brilliant character, no doubt. Definitely loved to hate him lol And yeah I agree, I love when get given characters that can stir up us up and make us feel so strongly

That’s what I love so much about show. It gives us such amazing characters, some we love, some we hate and some we love to hate. Like Alistair, man *shivers* But I’ll admit if I ever got to kick one of them in balls it would be Zach! I don’t think I’d ever become bored with that

ANd yes Show has given us so many incredibly well executed characters!! ...and one really tragically awful one *coughs*Amelia*coughs*I know Dean's self worth, or lack thereof, hurts so freaking much!! Which is why he needs to be hugged ALL the time forever!! We shall take good care of him and make him all the pie he wants!! *nods* lol

I’m in on taking care of Dean, of loving some self-esteem into him, some self-loving. I just wish Dean could himself through our eyes, I know he’s not a real person except in my head but he deserves ALL the love. And more.

Oh the epic brother moments. They hit me so hard. I remember back in ‘Fresh Blood’ the “I wish you would drop the show and be my brother again. Just 'Cause.” The, “I've been following you around my entire life! I mean, I've been looking up to you since I was four, Dean. Studying you, trying to be just like my big brother.” It brought tears to my eyes, not just because it was a wonderful moment but it was Sam, showing his love for his brother

UGH!!! Yes, Sammy's faaaace, he's like "nooooooo....I need you here to fix Baby for forever!!" all the internal weeping!

I completely agree with all your Wincest-y points *nods* and yes, I loved Lisa, part of me still wishes those crazy kids could have made it work. But yeah Lisa knew that Sam would always and forever and ever be first in Dean's heart, and she even really said as much when Dean was getting bitch slapped with truth bombs.

Oh I love ‘What is and What Should Never be’ too. But yeah. Deeeeean!! *cries*

I didn't start watching Show as it aired 'til season 3, I bought season 1 and 2 at the same time, so I never had a hellatus of torture in between 1 & 2, lol. But it still delivered quite a sucker punch!! But yeah Sam putting Dean first, ALL the feels!!

And haha, yeah, I have sooooo many bunnies, like DUDE!! lol and they just keep multiplying on me lol I hope your muse is more cooperative than mine lol

Definitely, the way he went along with Dean, naming parts of baby as Dean pointed them out, all while his heart breaking.

I too so wanted Dean and Lisa to make a go of it, but I think she knew, right from the start that she couldn’t hold onto him, and as you said, she knew it.

All the feels, my heart almost lurched out of my chest when the eighteen wheeler hit the Impala, when the camera panned around the damage it had caused. The not knowing what would happen, would it even be picked up for another season or where we going to be left with the image of them all, bleeding, silent, in the Impala.

Forever.

And then the joy when we got the news it had indeed been picked up! And Sam talking to Bobby about the condition of the Impala. The, Listen to me, Bobby. If there's only one working part, that's enough. We're not just going to give up on...
