Fic: Eleven Shillings Make Nine Short of a Pound (Jo/Will Hoffman)

Jun 21, 2008 14:27

I love this comm. Am I allowed to say that if it's my own? But I do - I finally got something done! The prompt was Jo/Will Hoffman/reverse the polarity. The elephant, eleven shillings, and Margaret Thatcher thing is an inside joke of mine, sorry. Hope to see more fic soon - new claim post goes up on Monday!

Hoffman fic! Cool! I could see him and Jo getting along really well, I like how you've written them here.

One thing though, you have them droping a foot and a half to a new level, shouldn't that be a bigger distance?

Thank you! I was excited to get his name in a prompt, because I've never seen fic for him.

And thanks - d'oh, that's what comes from stitching together two possible endings I had going, the foot and a half drop was for a different "thrilling outcome". Thanks for pointing it out, have fixed it... :)

Thank you so much, hon! They're terrific audios, and Hoffman's a fun character - he gets really fleshed out in the Short Trips as well. :)

They've been on my list. Somewhere behind Benny and in front of the Daleks. Perhaps they can move up a bit.

Mystery! Action! Romance! UNIT! What else could one seek from a story? You did a nice job with the characters, I felt like I got a real sense of Will even though I haven't heard any of his audios.

Thanks so much, I'm so glad you enjoyed it! Will's quite a cool character, so I had fun writing it - thanks for reading even if you didn't know him. :D

Yay! I love your Jo, a bit scatty with her huge handbag but calmly saving the day without making a fuss about it, and this "that same look in her eyes, of the opportunity for endless adventure, for travel and freedom and laughter" is such a great description of her. Of course Hoff would be entranced :) I also liked the image of him beleaguered by people with mad and possibly true stories.
