Despite working a ridiculously slow 8-hour shift today (Easter, Passover, Sunday, and rainy...a quadruple threat), my Easter wasn't half bad!
I had brunch with my family, which was really nice. My mom made a Dutch Baby, which is sort of like a big fluffy pancake you cut into slices. There are different variations/flavors...my mom made one with eggs, milk, flour, sugar, ricotta cheese, and lemon zest, and then put sliced strawberries on top. It was VERY good.
I got waaaay to much candy this year. And a couple of presents...my mom seems to think all holidays are gift-giving opportunities. A few years back we really had to cut back on Christmas presents because of money issues...I think Mom realized that if she distributes the gift-buying throughout other holidays it's easier on her wallet. *snickers*
Last night I saw Hot Tub Time Machine with some friends. That shit was absolutely ridiculous in the best way possible. I particularly enjoyed some of the jokes at John Cusack's expense..."TWO DOLLARS!!" LOL
...This is gonna sound random, but I saw way too may cats yesterday. I'm catsitting Minstrel & Magic for the Meyer family again, and then I stopped by my house and saw Midnight & Mitten, then I went to my parents' house where I saw Polecat & Ellie Bellie, and then I went to Megan's house after the movie and saw her cats Pumpkin and Chupacabra. Eight friggin' cats in one day, man. o_o By the time I got back to the Meyers' house, Minstrel and Magic where all over me like "WTF YOU SMELL OF A MILLION OTHER CATS. WHAT IS THIS." Poor things...
Ugh, I should go to bed soon. I somehow managed to make myself a ridiculously busy work schedule this week. I took a couple of sub shifts for someone who really needed coverage, then the new April schedule came out and I'd been given a couple of permanent shifts that I hadn't expected. So including today, I'm working a 7-day week all the way through Saturday. *sigh* BABY JESUS WHY?? Also, the cats woke me up at friggin' 6am this morning because I forgot to give them a late-night snack to hold them off until 9am...so that was fun. And I am quite tired. G'night!
