Rant

Right, I'm going to die. And I'm not happy about it.
Specifically starve to death or at least die of malnutrition. And it's all Morrisons' fault.

You see Morrisons have just bought Safeway. So the local Safeway that was nice and convenient is now a Morrisons. No problem I thought - it's a supermarket, can't be that different can it?

Ha.

Frankly, I could put up with the slight changes to layout that mean it adds about ten minutes to my shopping time.
But they're crap. Really, really poor. Lower choice, lower quality. Same prices.
Horror of horrors, they've taken my microwave curries away. Now, for the last four years I've lived on two or three of these a week. I loved them, they were gorgeous. Safeway microwave curries came in a wide variety of flavours, and you tell someone had really put some effort into getting the mixes just right.

They've gone. Replaced by 'Chicken Curry', 'Hot chicken Curry' and 'Mild Chicken Curry'. What the hell are they? Even a Madras, Balti or Khorma label would tell me something, even if a little tired. Gone are my Jalfrezis, Bhunas and Piri Piris. Gutted.

Oh well I thought. I'll actually have to cook again. So I start looking for ingredients.

No chillies. Argh. There used to be a nice range of fresh chillies. Now not a single one.
No mixed beans. And certainly no mixed beans in chilli sauce or spicy sauce. Just kidney beans - in a small tin mind.

By this point I was going mad.

Morrisons are crap. Time to investigate the Waitrose up the hill. Maybe they can save me from the barrage of bland, boring food stuffs this northern apology for a supermarket is trying to force on me...
