First Update and sample

Yeah, so here it is, the first sample I'm putting up of my writing. This little piece comes from a back story I'm writing for a Vampire: The Masquerade Character. I didn't originally plan on this character becoming so involved, but... well you'll see.

The Life and Embrace of Clarence Thomas

My history? Hah! What a quaint little question. Well I suppose it couldn't hurt. Where shall I begin? I suppose I should start with the day I became kindred. Let me see… I believe I was drunk that day. You see, I had just lost a substantial sum of money in a start-up company that went sour. I know now that the company went down the toilet because of the machinations of a certain nightwalker, attempting to observe my reaction. This would be a man named Xavier Dalnaise. He would also happen to be my sire. That insufferable, short sighted idiot embraced me the very night his destruction of my business was complete. I of course had placed myself under the influence of some excellent Tennessee Whiskey that had been aging in my cellar since before the War. Ah yes, there have been a number of wars since then haven’t there? I refer to the American Civil War, which at the time was the only war worth mentioning. Anyway, I found myself wandering around in a stupor, looking for a good, high, building that I could jump off of, when “Mr. Dalnaise” approached me. He was an image of the moneyed English businessman turned New Yorker. He offered me a position working for him, one that I in my inebriated state could not turn down. Eternal riches he offered. That and the power to command nations from the shadows he told me. He never mentioned the down side to it. Funny how I should bring that up, I’m a businessman; I know that no one ever tells you the catch up front, hell I’ve screwed over my fair share of suckers…but I digress. Needless to say, Mr. Dalnaise’s offer turned out to be the promise of the embrace. I became a Lasombra that night. He brought me to his coven and began molding me into a leader of the Sabbat. But what would happen next, even the wise mister Dalnaise could have never seen coming.
