Always darkest before it goes pitch black.

I just had what can be unequivically described as the worst day I've had all year. It started with a phone call, as most of these things do. I had applied to a simple job that was part sales and part administration. I had hoped to use it as an opportunity to learn some clerical skills. It paid well enough and best of all, the site advertised that no administrative experience was required. So I get this call yesterday in which a too cheerful woman explains to me that, "Oh no, experience is definitely required, but we do have an opening in customer service, would you be willing to work in a call center?"... Those of you who know me know that I have spent the last two summers working in call centers and that I hate it more than I hate licorice. So I politley tell her that no, I do not want to work customer service, I applied for a clerical position and that is what I'd like to have. She then informs me that she has no clerical training positions in the whole valley and tells me that they'll keep me on file. Great, so all this means is that I haven't moved forward at all, I'm just stuck where I've been all week. So I leave my room and go to my computer with the intent of sitting down and applying to more positions online. It is then that I dicover that my internet connection is not working. I try everything I can think of and nothing brings it back. So I call Comcast. After half an hour of making me do everything that I have already done over again, the customer service rep admits that I probably knew what I was doing and finally agrees that the problem was most likely on their end. He then schedules a technician to fix it, but tells me one won't be available untill Tuesday... Great, now I have to desparately run around my house with my laptop, hoping to catch a signal from the neighbors, so that I can check my E-mail for any job responses. That done, I decide that I should go to the gym and work out my frustration. I get there, and as I swipe in, it is discovered that the change to my mother's account that should have switched it to my name never came through. So now I've got to wait in their office and call my mother in California so she can have it out with the management and get the account changed, which should have happened over a week ago when she called them last time. It finally gets worked out and I go do my exercise. Afterwards, I'm feeling pretty good, as I always am after a good work out. So I head home to meet a friend, with whom I am plotting my new Role Playing Game. I get home, only to discover that I somehow lost my garage door opener. You see it doesn't connect too well with the visor, and my thinking is it must have fallen into my lap without me noticing somehow, and was deposited in a parking lot when I got out of my car. No problem, I'll just use my keys to get in and buy a new one later... only it turns out the key to the house my mother gave me is one of the old ones my little brother had before we changed the locks to keep his friends out. Okay, well there is a keypad on the garage door, all I have to do is remember the code on it and I can get inside... Except the battery for the keypad has died... $#*(@#*(#&$#*&%(@!!!! ALL THREE THINGS NECESSARY TO GET ME LOCKED OUT OF MY HOUSE HAVE OCCURED AT THE SAME TIME! At this point, I'm pretty sure that God has called in every bit of bad karma I've incurred over the last several years. So I go back out to buy a $5 nine volt battery to get the keypad working again. After some wrestling to get the battery compartment open, I finally replace the battery and get inside. From there on things seemed fairly normal, except I still didn't have interenet access. Needless to say, I'm in a foul mood today, and as such I haven't left my house all day long. I just hope that things go well when I go out with my friends tonight.
