THE BOX PERSON
The BOX PERSON (also known as the Square), is the most organised of the Shapes and is typically a very tidy, logical and practical individual who likes everything around them to be in an orderly fashion. Such people are by definition, highly intolerant of sloppy work. The Box person is also the most knowledgeable of the Shapes. Some of the Box's most positive traits are their dependability, "perseverance and patience."
Such an individual is likely to have an exceptionally tidy desk, maybe with a single piece of paper on top. Everything on their desk has its place. The Box believes in the mantra "Clean desk...organised mind."
The Box person likes to keep on top of things and resultantly, has one or two letters in their in-tray and several in their out tray. This may be partially due to the fact that Boxes are extremely hardworking and committed and are often found working late in the office.
Box people are very good at filing. Their computer files are stored regimentally and with great thought so that their colleagues can easily access anything that they need.
These people can be quite obsessional in their actions and attention to detail and could in fact be described as perfectionists. This attention to detail also leads to them being very slow decision makers as they are always in search of more information to analyse and base their decisions upon: Boxes "prefer precise data" of a factual nature. This echoes the fact that the Box likes to be in control and thus, wishes to have a predictable environment where there will be no unwanted surprises. However, it also gives other people the impression that they are procrastinators and also means that they are highly resistant to change.
Due to their very obsessional nature and their tendency towards perfectionism, the Box person is quite often viewed as a loner and does not work well in a team: they are most definitely not team players.
This trait can also spill over into their lives outside the working environment. Any social events that they organise will be stringently planned well in advance and will be executed with almost military precision! This may well explain their fondness of flow charts.
In other news, I quit my job today. No real reason, I just thought I could do better. That, and the new boss is exceedingly stupid, and quite frankly, I'm allergic to stupid. So, if you're one of those people who have wondered why I avoid you, you sort of know why.
I just walked out of the Ministry, just like that. Just left in the middle of the workday and firmly decided I simply was not coming back. Let that git who calls himself a Minister file his own things. Though I don't think he's literate (he asked me to read and write everything for him, how tedious). Oh well
