IGN posts
the first full video review of The Lost Frontier. Clearly there are spoilers everywhere.
I hate to say it, but the thing that irks me most about this review is the bit where he's all "So this guy that you just met in passing at the beginning turns out to be, like, some important dude? Only I totally forgot who he was." (Not verbatim, obviously.)
The reason is, if he were as big a fan of the series as he claims, then he wouldn't have brushed Phoenix off because every Jak fan knows that if the character actually speaks and shows up in a cutscene, THEY WILL BE IMPORTANT LATER. This is how cast members are introduced. Duh.
I can't say anything based on the rest 'cause I haven't actually gotten to play yet myself--Tuesday I too can participate in the fail--but most of the review tends to match up pretty closely to what people have been saying. I have to say, though, that it seems like the rating they gave it was stupidly high for all the "This and this and this and this are faily" points the guy made.
Eh, what can you do.
In other, tangentially related news, have an icon.
(And I think someone needs to get Yahtzee to review this thing. Seriously.)
EDIT:
Article review finally loaded for me too. "[...] It's just not an enthralling tale. Now, does it need to be? No, I don't remember the original Jak having much going on in terms of the story and I was confused as all hell by the ending to Jak II."
...WHAT GAMES WAS THIS GUY PLAYING?!
