He wasn't sure what he had expected being kidnapped to be like, but this wasn't it. Where was the torture, the chance for a brave and noble gesture, the burly cellmate who just wouldn't take no for an answer? Instead Stephen was left alone in his room, forced to watch person after person slip past, all the while feeling considerably worse. If this was a hospital like everyone was insisting, why wasn't he being cured?
No, being kidnapped definitely lacked excitement.
Idly, he flipped through the channels, despite having already confirmed none of them carried his show. Once again, his search yielded no results.
Stephen was homesick, to put it plainly. No one here seemed to know who he was, let alone understand his importance, and the studio must be frantic by now. Not to mention America. He shuddered to think of how his beloved country was handling such a loss. He missed his desk and his ties, and it just wasn't fair. Where was the homage he was supposed to be paid?
"This is the Colbert Report . . ." Stephen whispered to himself. He sighs, sinking into the bed, obviously distraught.
It just wasn't the same without the audience.
