This afternoon Senate Minority leader Harry Reid (D) forced (Some would say hijacked) the United States Senate. He called for a closed session in the Senate to discuss pre-Iraq war intelligence. The idiot claims that the President used misinformation in the lead-up to the war in Iraq. He is doing this to demand answers to why there are no investigations into the pre-war intelligence.
This is just one of many ridiculous moves the liberals have made in the past few weeks. They indicted the Vice President's closest adviser (Scooter Libby) in a case that is as water tight as a sponge. Libby has now had to resign and leave a very important hole in this administration's ability to lead the nation.
Yesterday the President announced his new pick for the Supreme Court vacancy. His pick is Samuel Alito who is considered to be the most qualified pick in decades. The Democrats are already threatening to filibuster (block) this new nominee. The democrats unanimously voted for him for his current position back in the early 1990's. Now they say he would make the court too conservative. In reality all he would do is balance a court that has been overwhelming liberal for many decades.
With todays move in the Senate it shows the Democrats are just trying to the move the ball one yard at a time to the eventual impeachment of the President over pre-war intelligence. With all of these repeated blows they are trying to strip away the credibility of this President and his administration. All they are really accomplishing is the obstruction of this countries ability to prosper. In some respects I'd like to see the Democrats and liberals continue this and show the country their true colors. Unfortunately, at the same time they are preventing this President from focusing on his job which is to lead and protect our country in a time of war.
My hope is that through all of this the Democrats will once again embarrass themselves into another losing election in 2006 and 2008. But until then it's going to be a long rough dirty road. Please be praying for the President and conservative leadership of this country. Pray that they will deal with these trials with integrity and morals that will separate themselves from the tactics of the left.
