I hope everyone had a great 4th of July! I know I certainly did. Most of the day we just kinda sat around and did nothing which was great. In the evening we had the Stembergers over for dinner and fireworks

we saw fireworks last night as we were flying into orlando. it was pretty cool, cause they all looked really itsybitsy. The fireworks on Canada Day were really spectacular, enhanced by the fact that we were watching them from the top of a steep hill bundled up in layers of sweaters.
they were amazing. everyone sang the canadian anthem as they were going off, and Tim asked us if we sing the American anthem as ours goes by... and we don't, which seems kind of sacrilegious when i think about it

If you are trying to think of something you could send that they don't regularly get, you ought to send them citrus stuff when it's in season. We did that for some friends of ours up in Virginia and they couldn't get over how fresh the stuff was. The only thing is that sometimes the border agents don't like sending produce across borders.

the only thing you aren't supposed to bring across is tobacco or alcohol. citrus is deffinitely an idea. i could send it to the WA address... hmmmm.... great idea! I might try that. Andrew requested Three Musketeer bars, since they don't have those, but it really isn't at all fair, because they're so close to the border that they could drive twenty minutes and be in the States. That's why the Citrus thing could work. They have TONS of fresh fruit, we got ten POUNDS of blueberries for only fifteen bucks, fresh right off a farm. they were the most.amazing.things.ever. but i didn't notice a lot of citrusy type things, and orange juice was really expensive over there.
