Thought I would post a brief update on what we did during the weekend...
I was pretty much brain dead this weekend, so I didn't want to do anything difficul. So, I watched a bunch of DVDs, including Nicholas Cage's Next. I actually really liked this movie. I think I put it on originally because Peter Falk was credited in it. I was disappointed at the amount of time that Peter had, however the movie itself was interesting and amusing. Would recommend this one. Also saw Disturbia, which was suppose to be based off of Alfred Hitchcock's Rear Window, but only in a present day setting. It featured the kid from Transformers in it. It was an ok movie. Had some valid present day twists in it, however Alfred Hitchcock is the man when it comes to suspense thrillers and this didn't live up to that.
Worked a lot out in my lani this weekend. We've been working on one of the beds for quite some time. It was an overgrown mess when we started chopping away at it last year. We've officially taken *ALL* of the plants out of it and I dug down somewhere between 1 to 2 feet and removed all the soil. I'm going to replace it with a layer of peat moss to retain the moisture of the soil, and then we're putting in nice furtile soil on top. I'm hoping to get some mid-west plans to gown there... Specifically the plant I have so lovingly cared for over the last year (I have 5 sprouts of the Rose of Minerva which appear to be doing *GREAT*). I'll also be planing my roses, lillies, and this plant I bought at the home show in Tampa (name is escaping me). We're going to be replacing the electrical that is in the bed to include a larger electrical plug. Currently there is only 2 plugs on an outlet that looks like it's been burned previously and is attached to a piece of wood that is rotting (wasn't treated). So, we're going to replace it with something that has 3-4 outlets to allow the new lights we bought along with a fountain we've had for a while and maybe a bug zapper to get rid of these pesky insects we've had recently. Anyways, the back corner is looking great. The soil is out and Bear power washed it for me over the weekend. You would be able to identify it with what was there over a year ago! I'm hoping we'll be able to get the peat moss, soil, electrical, and planting done in the next month...then we'll be off to do the other corner...
Other than that, rest of the weekend was pretty laid back.. I *LOVE* laid back weekends. :D
