Live moves on...
My life is mainly revolving around work lately.. It's been common that I'm doing 17-18 hours worth a work a day.. I'm just trying so hard to keep up with our timelines.. The problem being is that our timelines are a moving target, and if we come in early, great..however if we come in even a day late, then we get chewed on... Case in point.. We submitted a document yesterday, on time... After submission, we were told we had to revoke the document because of some data that came in last minute.. Thus, we revoked our document and made the changes last night (mind you, the person who said he was going to do it did not, so I was up late making the changes).. I got the changes made and submitted first thing in the morning and I let our project manager know that due to the tardiness of the late breaking data that we may be *one day late* in coming in on our timelines.. I got chewed on for it..
In other news, our medical director looked at the protocols *late* today after we added the change.. As a joke, when I called him to ask him to ask if we had approval, he told me he wanted a major change to the protocol. I almost came through the phone, however he quickly revoked his comment and said he was only teasing.. That we did a good job of incorporating the changes last minute.. At least someone realizes the issues we're having..
Also this week, we had Bear's parents in town. They're pooch fell ill on Monday night.. I spent Monday night cleaning up vomit and taking care of him in between getting documents done for work.. He was taken to the vet on Tuesday and they diagnosed him with early signs of kidney failure and gave him some medicine.. He's been slowly deteriorating since then.. He passed away last night.. Thank goodness Bear was here this morning to help his parents get arrangements made.. He had their puppy picked up and creamated.. Unfortunately, with it being as hot as it is down here, it would have been a miserable trip having their poor baby stuck in the back of the truck in the hot weather.. Bear's parents knew this was the only real option..
We also have had the niece and nephew here the last few days.. I've really felt bad because I haven't been able to spend much time with them because of my schedule. They headed off to Orlando to spend time with their mom yesterday.. We're going to head to Orlando tomorrow to go dive at Disney's Epcot Center Aquarium.. I'm very excited about that!! :) Will let you know how everything goes.
Oh... Also on a fun front. I saw my first wild parrots today in Tampa! They were sitting on some power lines squaking up a storm. :D I'm hoping to see some in my neighborhood. :D
