Overall Good Friday...

Friday didn't start out the best...it was my day off and I had a meeting scheduled in the morning. While waiting for the meeting, I found out that one of my Purchase Order's had been cancelled because it was sent to the wrong person via SAP. When I started to dig even further into this issue, I then found out that I would have to request a new one. While creating a new one, I then found out that due to our reorganization that our cost centers were no longer valid (of course, they didn't tell us about this, I just received an error message from the computer system indicating that the cost center had been locked out). ARG! So, I had to let my vendor know that I was in the process of clearing up this issue.. The meeting itself on Friday wasn't that bad, however I have a feeeling that we're going to be pushed to optimize our timelines (which we've already done) even more.

So, around 1:00 pm I turned off my computer and gathered a few things. I gave destroyah_des a call and headed out to her place. Des was a very graceous host. She introduced me to her "family" (she keeps birds and reptiles), her husband, and then showed me around the outside and inside of her home. I loved talking with Des. Because she's in a profession which is completely different than my own, it was facinating listening to how her birds are trained and breed. Also, training that was deep seated within my brain was sparked when she spoke about the operant conditioning that she used. We were able to fly her birds from a field close to her house, which was a blast to see. And afterwards Des let me watch her feed one of her hatchlings. The time went very quick, however I quite enjoyed it. Hoepfully we'll be able to get together again sometime.

As for coming home, Des and Chris gave me directions which took me through the countryside, which was beautiful. I got back home without getting lost once. :D

Bear was already home when I came in. He said we needed to go and told me to not even take my shoes off. We got in the car and went out for dinner. We let the GPS help us make a decision. We knew we wanted to go out towards Citrus Park, so when we got close, I started scanning the GPS and arbitrarly picked an Italian restaurant which wasn't a chain. They had a live singer, and all the waiters were dressed up in pirate gear ready for the parade on Saturday. The food was decent, however not spectacular. We might go back if we're in the area again, however I don't think we'll seek the restaurant out.

Once done w/dinner we headed over to Sears. Bear had been talking to the Sears associate and found out that a water softener we wanted was going on sale on Saturday. We're hoping this water softener will help us with some of our dishwasher and washer issues. We went in and talked w/the associate. He confirmed the sale on Saturday and then indicated he could give us the sale price that night. So, we bought a softener. We're hoping to pick it up Sunday. We're already plumbed for a softener (which doesen't work), so we'll have to remove that one and possibly do a little more plumbing to get this one hooked up. Shouldn't take more than 1/2 a day when we get motivated to do it. After the purchase, we headed back home for the night.
