I have come to realize in little less than a month since I've been done school that I have an AMPLE amount of time. I used to read a lot when I was younger, and I miss the passion!
For you avid readers out there, what are some good books to check out this summer?
One thing though; I'm pretty picky. Here are some book types I DONT want to read:
1) Any book that is a romance novel
2) Any book that has a female lead character who ends up with some guy at the end
3) Any novel which turns into a series. Unless the series is less than 4 books, then that's cool.
Here's an idea of what sort of books I do like though:
- Fantasy novels (that don't expand into huge series!!!)
- death/funerals hahaha
- how to do things (I can't get enough of The Debt-Free Graduate)
- people's lives, journeys, experiences
- documentary like books (like exposing a business, etc)
- humorous fiction books
- suspense/thriller/horror
- collection of short stories
- ghost stories/paranormal stories
I have an ample supply of history novels, so I don't want anything like that. I'm just trying to steer away from romance novels and 'young adult' fiction novels. I don't mind reading something geared towards children and younger persons either. Your input would be greatly appreciated!
On that note, here are some novels I am going to read this summer, that I either already have, or am planning on getting (hopefully):
- Eragon (Have)
- Elder (Have)
- American Way of Death (On its way)
- The Chronicles of Prydain (Waaaaant)
- Cemetery Stories: Creepy Graveyards, Embalming Secrets and the Life of a Corpse After Death (Want)
- Possibly Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows
Feel free to help me add onto my list!
