Sometimes I think machines know certain things.
For example
My mom wanted to trade my car in, because it just wasn't worth fixing it.
I went to start up my car today, and it wouldn't start. We called the neighbour and he came over to give my battery a boost. I put some brake fluid in it, and shut the hood lid. The car dies again. I start it back up, it works.
So we start driving, and every five minutes, the car struggles, sputters and the check engine light flickers madly. It was the worse drive ever. My car has never acted like this before, and the motor and battery wasn't the problem with the car; it was the brakes.
My mom had to turn around with the neighbour and get her license, so I had to drive the car to the dealership by myself.
I turned off onto the road to the dealership, when everything stops. All the lights in the dash turn on. The power steering seizes. All power stops. The car is just coasting. So I coast along the road, and reach the driveway of the dealership. And that's when the car just stops. I press on the gas. Nothing. I turn the car off, and restart it. It starts up. Touch the gas pedal. Nothing.
I sat there, just flaberghasted. I had almost got there. I called my mom and told her my car died right outside the dealership. She said "How embarassing." and asked me to start it back up and see what lights came on, though I told her all of them came on. I start the car, and touch the gas. It moves! I pulled up into the dealership and parked it for the last time.
My car was worth 50 bucks.
I thought I was going to miss it, but then it had to go and be a little whiney bitch. I think it knew it was on it last ride.
Yay, one more week until I have my own car again.
Go go little white truck of doom.
