Holy crap
Here I am, sitting in my room playing The Godfather for PS2 when my mom walks in holding an envelope with utter confusion on her face. Here I am thinking, "Ah shit... what bad news came in the mail this time?" She hands me the envelope and she asks, "Did you write this???" I got very confused until she handed me the envelope. It was the poem that I submitted for the Poetry.com contest. My poem got chosen for the semi-finals! I have to wait til April to find out if it's going to be in the finals or not. Just making it into the semi-finals means they are going to publish my poem in their poetry book with 2 pages dedicated to it (one for the poem and one for a little something about me). I didn't even think that the poem was anything that special but I just kept getting praises from my mom about how good it is. I'm just completely bewildered since I didn't think it was that good in the first place. *shrugs* Oh well... maybe I should become an English major and become a poet. Haha.... that would be funny....
