More graduation

Friday was a pleasant day. We all met at Eliot house and loaded up the car, which Molly and Matthieu took to Somerville and unloaded. Kate and Marc, Beth and I walked up to Bertucci's for a very good lunch. More shopping. Katie and Marc came back with us to our motel and we all had a nap. Then we all meet up at Elephant Walk restaurant at Porter Square for another very good dinner. Molly, Maggie, & Matthieu go ogg with Chuck's sister for a night of partying; we take Katie and Marc back to La Quinta and then at last find our way back to Alewife and so to bed.

Saturday. Molly left early for the airport and got back to Richmond OK. Katie and Marc visited with their Cambridge friends. Beth and I went to Somerville and fixed stuff at the apartment and then went shopping for household stuff adn a bicycle for Maggie at Target. Then the four of us go to the Red House restaurant in Cambridge for yet another fine dinner.

Sunday we go to Somerville for breakfast of delicious crepes fixed by Matthieu, say our goodbyes and head back to Virginia.

It was an uneventful trip till the very end. We pulled up to the dark house about 10:30 and decided to wait till the next day to unload the car. So I was coming up to the brick walkway with my kleenex (I caught a cold in Cambridge), cough drops, and bottle of scotch, looking forward to a wee nip before bed, when I tripped over a planter I couldn't see and fell. The Laphroaig hit the bicks a split second before my right hand, which came down hard on the broken bottle. Bad, bad bloody scene. Off to the ER where we spend the rest of the night watching them clean out and stitch up my hand. Friday I'm scheduled for surgery on it to repair nerve damage. So that is the story on that. The prognosis is for a complete if protracted recovery. Ta-ta!
