She Excels at Procrastination
Grad school update: the letters of recommendation portion of the process is going well. So far, I've had one positively glowing response to my request for an academic reference, and another offer to (drumroll) let me write the recommendation letter myself.
Which is an incredible boon, because I don't have to worry about what the letter says... And an incredible pain, because there's no way around the fact that unless you're an ego-maniac, writing a 3rd-person letter about how awesome you are is weird. It's also very awkward, because you have to make it as good as you can without going over the top.
And I thought cover letters were unpleasant to write. Sheesh.
