And that means I've been away from the on-line journaling world for almost a month.
Let's see what have I been up to?
High school Swim/Dive season officially ended on May 15th (Armed Forces Day)... but the last time I had to bake a cake was April 30th... for the May 1st Diving Invitational. The team Mom coaches for got Chocolate Chip Cookies (made in a mini-muffin wrapper with a Hershey's kiss pressed into it) for their final meet.
Been working on my Christmas knitting... afghans for right now.
I made my Mom the
Knotty But Nice hat from this Winter's
Knitty.com, in Cotton Ease, rather than wool (since she's allergic). It was supposed to be for Mother's Day, but I lost inspiration after casting my stitches onto the circular needle. But, she has it now, and she LOVES it!
I've been genuinely sick for a little while. A weird combination of my allergies and the rapidly changing weather here in NorCal knocked me low. At least now my ears are nearly clear. WHAT?!? ::Cupping hand by her left ear.::
Getting ready for the
Election June 8th. It's a mid-term primary, so while it seems unimportant, it actually is. It's too late to register here in California... but register for the November Election, since this is about your US Congressman. You know, the elected official that technically is supposed to be rather accessible to YOU at the Federal level?
What else... nothing I can think of right now. Oh wait!
May 16th was the 20th anniversary of Jim Henson's death. So to celebrate that great man, I was planning on making some
Yip-Yip Aliens, and I hope to have them done before July.
You don't know the Yip-Yips? Watch the "Phone" Video below. My favorite... although the Radio one is classic as well.
