Spring has sprung!

And it's colder now that it was in Winter.

No, really, it's colder now that it's officially Spring, that it was in the final week(s) of Winter. Wacky, wacky, California weather at its finest.

I haven't been very prolific with hand-crafting so far this year, but I did manage to knit a baby hat in an afternoon. It was the 10 cable version of this hat, and it was for Whitney, born on the 7th of March, but 20 days later she's still under five pounds... and her due date isn't for another 2+ weeks. Yes, she's a preemie. Mostly in size, and she's been home a week.

I knit the hat out of something other than white. Since, the freebie hospital caps are white, and since she was a Spring baby I guessed (correctly) that no one had given her Mom and Dad hats for her. Grandma of Whitney loved it and sent a picture to Mom... and Mom promised to take a picture for me of Whitney wearing it.

Already heard that Whitney HATES the hat. Why? Because unlike her other three, she can't take it off easily. ;)
