On Spinnaker’s I Know What This Medal Is For, the listener is listlessly taken through a journey of a young man’s roots. A simple strumming of the guitar behind the warm tones of Spinnaker’s vocals carries the CD from song to song. I enjoy the distinguished folk flare that Spinnaker commits to in this album. On the other hand, I am intrigued by the thought of how others may interpret this album. I enjoy the raw sound that is produced here, but I feel that others may not take to this album so quickly. Folk music isn’t for everyone, but I’m glad to see that Spinnaker isn’t afraid of that. He is true to his roots. He tells descriptive stories of being a boy growing up in a world covered in country dust, and how he lives his current life with respect to where he has come from. - Megan Leppla"

I am playing at the Four Winds Cafe at New College on Sunday with the deep and holy sea and cassette, I am excited!
